Carl, Thanks for speaking to this issue. I am afraid that you are right. Well meaning Christians have been adopted this clever strategy (whose inventor you identified) and are successfully marketing this product “Chrislam” that evokes much fear and mistrust.[Success is when you can smear Rick Warren, of all people, with it]! Some of them will protest and assert that they do love Muslims-but I sense a lot of fear – and “Love casts out fear.” Can they really love Muslims if they dislike their culture? When a Muslim follows Christ, but keeps whatever religious culture, values and practices that are not incompatible with the Bible, they call this “Chrislam”? Thanks for calling us to ask, Do we love Muslims or do we love notions and ideologies?
Awesome video, very enlightening! I actually didn’t know anything about Chrislam so this was very informative! Confession: As I am still getting to know you through your writings and everything I am realizing something about myself. I am naturally skeptical of Christians or religious people’s agendas etc. So although I want to be a seeker and want to learn I am very cautious. Somewhere in the middle of watching this video I was starting to feel like you were going to say the opposite. I thought you were going to be the one with the agenda and the people you were describing within Chrislam were going to be the people without the agenda. To myself, I said…”I knew it”! But I continued to listen, and was pleasantly surprised to hear that I was wrong I am enjoying reading your stuff Carl and hearing your thoughts. I am trying to come out of stage 3 if you know what I mean, I have been living there for many years! Anyway thanks again, your writing are helping me a lot! -Mike
